Alexander described Sunderland College as stimulating, enjoyable and a great opportunity. While studying at the College, he raised money for Macmillan and volunteered in the local community. He went on to achieve a Medicine degree at Newcastle University, as well as gaining a Masters in research. He now works as a Junior Doctor in Newcastle.
He said:
“I joined Sunderland College to gain opportunities for independent learning and to be treated as an adult; both of these hopes were fulfilled by the College.
What I liked best about Sunderland College was the great teaching. I felt the great staff really pushed me to do well. The real interest in each subject from the teachers was very encouraging and allowed us to succeed.”
Alexander is now a junior doctor at the Royal Victoria Infirmary and Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.
