Financial Support

At Sunderland College we have a reputation for providing quality care and support for our students and this includes our financial help. We provide a range of options to ensure our students have access to packages designed to meet their needs.

Learner Support Fund

The college has Learner Support Funds available to assist students aged 19+ with the general cost of attending college including travel, essential kit costs and childcare.

Full time students aged 19-20, who are either financially dependent on parents or who have an individual income of less then £11,810 could be eligible to receive a grant of £500. This package is not available to students in receipt of an out of work benefit.

Application forms are available from receptions at all college campuses, or click here to download the Learner Support Fund Application and Guidance Form. For further information please contact the Welfare Team on 0191 511 6000 or email studentservices@sunderlandcollege.ac.uk.

Advice is available about the fee remission policy, hours of study, clarification of the Jobseekers’ Allowance regulations, we can also give guidance on the possible effects of studying whilst on a disability benefit.
