Who is this course for?
This course is designed for learners who wish to attain an underpinning knowledge of working with adolescents. It allows further knowledge and allows learners to cater for adolescent who may wish to attend group exercise classes. The skills you learn on the course will give you a vast array of skills to make sure you develop the adolescent population correctly.
What do you need to apply for the course?
Learners must hold a Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing or equivalent.
What are the key things you'll learn?
This course is made up of the following units which all need to be successfully achieved to pass the minimum requirements;
Understand the three – stages of adolescence
Know how to assess – teenage obesity
Understand the- physiological changes and the effects of exercise in adolescents
Understand the – psycho-social challenges faced by adolescent
Understand the – nutritional needs of adolescents
Understand how to – reflect the physical, mental and emotional development of adolescents when planning a fitness session
How you will learn
The course will be delivered at our new sports academy and take advantage of upgraded fitness suite and studio facilities. The practical parts of the course include learning how to develop programmes that will meet adolescent’s fitness needs. The theory aspect of the course will be delivered using engaging teaching methods in our new state of the art classroom spaces.
Where could this course take you?
This qualification provides progression to the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Instructing Exercise and Fitness. Learners may also broaden their knowledge and skills by progressing to other specialist courses or our Level 3 diploma in health and fitness, or personal training qualification.
