Who is this course for?
If you enjoy art and design and would like to develop your practical and creative skills then this course is ideal for you. Its also a good starting point for people wishing to study art and design to a higher level.
What do you need to apply for the course?
You’ll need a minimum of two GCSEs at grade D, one of which should be in an art and design subject.
What are the key things you'll learn?
This course explores a range of subject areas including:
- Painting and drawing
- Three dimensional studies
- General craft
- Printing
- Practical and digital graphics
How you will learn
The course is mainly taught through practical methods in well equipped studios. The course also includes visits to museums and galleries where you will learn to look at and record the work of other artists and designers.
Where could this course take you?
If you are successful on the course and achieve a merit grade then you will be able to progress onto a level 3 Extended National Diploma in Art and Design, Graphic Design or other Art and Design Extended National Diploma subject. All of which open up opportunities to work in a wide variety of art and fashion based industries.
