Who is this course for?

This is an introductory course designed to give learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to make dance costumes.

Some basic technical experience using a domestic sewing machine is preferable.

What do you need to apply for the course?

There are no formal entry requirements, as this course is a leisure course.

What are the key things you'll learn?

Learners will develop knowledge and technical skills in garment construction. You will learn how to following a basic pattern and construct a dancewear garment.

How you will learn

You will attend one session per week, developing your practical skills by sampling and following a basic pattern, resulting in the construction of a dancewear garment.

There are no formal assessments.

Where could this course take you?

On successful completion of the course, you could progress to Level 1 Textiles.

Following Level 1 you could then progress to a Level 2 in Textiles or related course.

It could also give you the skills and knowledge needed to set up your own business or build on the skills needed for this specific area of the industry.
