This programme has been designed to offer entrants the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge around the engineering management sector. It is intended as a means for learners to further their education to degree level via a non-traditional pathway.
To enrol on this course, you will require a Level 5 qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. HND, foundation degree, etc.).
Applicants with a Level 4 HNC in a relevant discipline would also be considered if they are able to provide sufficient evidence of experiential learning (Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning (RPeL) – judged against relevant industrial experience or other learning in which the acquisition of skills or knowledge at the equivalent level has been gained.

The course is assessed using a range of methods, including assignments, practical projects and presentations. These have been based on 'real world' scenarios to prepare you for work the engineering industry.
Throughout your programme of study, you will be required to complete assessments to demonstrate your learning of subject knowledge and transferable key skills.
You will experience a range of different types of assessment during your programme, which will include some of the following:
- Essays
- Written examinations
- Presentations
- Coursework projects and portfolios
- Laboratory assessments and reports
- Practical assessments
- Group work
- Dissertations
- Other types of assessment appropriate to your area of study
This programme is based upon entrants either working within the engineering sector or having the ability to gain work placement experience within the engineering sector with a management perspective.
This programme will be delivered from September for the duration of the academic year. During the start of the programme, entrants will be issued with a schedule of assessment, deadlines for submissions and an overview of the programme.
The course is made up of two semesters lasting 15 weeks each.

This course has been developed to offer students the opportunity to discover the range and scope that the engineering management sector can offer.
Working alongside key employers in the region, the course offers students the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in engineering management. The course is also focused on the development of students social and employability skills, alongside technical knowledge.
