What’s it all about?

This course is your opportunity to gain the practical skills and knowledge you will need to start you career in the fast paced and exciting I.T sector.

You will learn technical aspects such as how computers work and how they are used in industry and commerce, along with focusing on communication and the creation of digital media.

You will need 5 GCSE's at grade 4-9 including Maths and English Language

19+ please enquire The course is for students aged 16-18 and is free. You will need to provide your own stationery and you will be given the opportunity to take part in trips and visits, which may incur an small additional cost.

During practical lessons you will develop your skills to put into practice in industry with the use of industry software and equipment. During theory lessons you will be expected to develop their knowledge by doing group work, research, report writing.

During the course lecturers will assess your knowledge in a range of ways to ensure that you are progressing and where needed, additional support is provided.

There will be termly assessments during the course to ensure you are on track to achieve your target grade.

You must have achieved math's and English at grade 4 or above at GCSE.

The sixth form day is 9am-4.15 pm, Monday-Friday. You will study each of your subjects for 4hr 45min per week, across three separate lessons. Your timetable will be determined by the combination of subjects that your study, which will be made available to you at the start of the academic year.

You are not required to be on campus when you do not have a timetabled lesson, although we would strongly recommend that you are. Making effective use of our learning facilities and resources during such study periods will ensure that you keep on top of your work and make significant progress in your studies, not to mention developing important time-management, organisation and independent-study skills..

You will study 4 modules throughout this two-year course.

Throughout Year 12 you will study:
Creating Systems to Manage Information (e)
Using Social Media in Business

Moving into Year 13 you will study:
Information Technology Systems (e)
Data Modelling
