What’s it all about?

This course is for anyone looking to progress from Level 2 Hairdressing and is interested in becoming a full-time stylist working in a salon and is looking to develop their skills with a creative edge.

You will have the opportunity to participate in competitions and external professional workshops as part of this course.

You will need Level 2 Hairdressing qualification or equivalent prior industry experience.

You will also be required to complete a skills assessment at the start of this course.

19+ please enquire You will need to provide your own stationary (e.g. pens, pencils, files, etc.). You will also be required to provide your own uniform and suitable footwear. A full kit must also be purchased, and you may be eligible for financial assistance to help with these costs may be available. Any external trips or visits may also incur additional costs.

The course is taught using practical training sessions to enhance your skills. You will also be given the opportunity to work in our commercial salon with our extensive client base to learn how to manage clients.

Theoretical methods in the classroom are delivered with a variety of teaching and learning methods to prepare you for written assignments and end of year exams.

You will attend a compulsory salon placement at least one day per week as part of the course to be able to enhance your knowledge of industry expectations.

English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your chosen career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/or English previously, we will support you to achieve a higher level.

Mon-Fri, 9am-8pm. Days and times of study are subject to change. Timetables are confirmed at the start of term.

Our professional qualifications in hairdressing help learners to launch and develop their careers as hairdressers, barbers, wigmakers and salon managers. For example, salon assistants can quickly work their way up in the hairdressing industry.

There are many opportunities to become a manager, a trainer or even owner your own hair salon.

What’s next?

After successfully completing this course, you will be able to progress to the next level or a hairdressing or hairdressing management. Alternatively, you could gain employment in a hair salon.

You can also further develop your skills by joining one of our Level 2/3 barbering beauty therapy courses, depending on outcomes of a skills test.
