What’s it all about?

Are you passionate about transforming vehicles into works of art? Our Level 2 focuses on equipping you with the skills and knowledge needed for a career in vehicle paint repair. This hands-on programme is designed for enthusiasts looking to perfect the craft of restoring cars to their former glory, particularly after accidents. You'll gain practical experience in our workshop using industry-standard equipment and techniques, such as mixing and applying both water and solvent-based paints. The curriculum covers essential topics that are critical for developing a deep understanding of vehicle paint technology, including safety practices, paint systems, and colour matching. You will also explore the latest innovations in repair methods.
Whether you aim to join a high-end body shop, a bustling automotive manufacturing environment, or start your own business, this training will provide the stepping stones towards a successful and fulfilling career in accident repair painting.

You will need Maths and English GCSE's at grade 4-9. Or a relevant Level 1 Automotive qualification.

Achieving a Grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths and English is important, but if you're not there yet, don’t worry! We provide supportive classes to help you meet these essential criteria. The learning programme involves learners studying both the theory and practical aspects, including:

- Preparing metal and pre-painted surfaces
- Preparing and applying fillers and foundation materials to vehicles
- Repairing minor paint defects.

Learners will also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and other skills associated with working in a garage.

What’s next?

Upon completing this course, students are well-prepared to advance their studies or dive straight into the automotive industry. Future study options include our level 3 qualifications in vehicle body and paint operations. Career-wise, graduates can secure roles in leading body shops, automotive manufacturers, or launch their own ventures in vehicle repair.
