The recommended entry requirements are: Level 2 Diploma in Animal Care or 4 GCSEs grade 4/5 (B/C) or above, including English and/or Maths and Science.

Your progress will be assessed by a range of stimulating methods including written assignments, practical assessments/observations and a written exam.
English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/or English at school, we will support you to improve your skills.
This is a part-time course that takes places during the day. You will also be expected to study and complete assignment work or carry out a work placement outside of college.
You will cover a variety of exciting units including:

- Animal Feeding and Nutrition

Upon completing the course, you have several exciting pathways to choose from. You could pursue a Foundation Degree or advance to university to study for a BSc (Hons) in fields such as zoology, animal behaviour, conservation, animal science, or animal management.
Alternatively, you might enter the workforce directly in roles within animal management and welfare organisations, or in research settings. Career options include positions as an assistant zoo keeper, assistant kennel/cattery worker, dog groomer/assistant dog groomer, animal care technician, animal nutritionist, or vet care assistant.
