What’s it all about?

Are you a practitioner working within a school or college and looking for additional professional development? This course will provide the opportunity to develop your experience gained as a Teaching Assistant, Mentor or Early Years Practitioner and enhance your knowledge and skills within the teaching and learning environment. It will challenge you in both daily practice and theoretical understanding.

Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, Learning Support, Education and Training, Mentoring or Early Years, GCSE Maths and English at grade C (4) or above or Level 2 equivalent and a successful DBS clearance.

19+ please enquire You will need to provide your own stationery. You could purchase books from the recommended reading list, however, they are available to borrow from the college’s Learning Centre. You could have the opportunity for relevant trips though none are mandatory

You should be working or on a practical placement for the duration of the course in a school or college.

This course is offered one evening per week- Thursday 6pm-8:30pm (This is subject to change)

This Level 4 qualification aims to provide practitioners working within schools and colleges the opportunity for additional professional development.

Our HE Academic Support Tutor can provide help with study skills, written English, academic writing, research skills, critical thinking and revision, assessment and examination skills.

What’s next?

You could progress to be a Higher Level Practitioner including Teaching Assistant or Early Years Practitioner, in addition to leadership, mentoring, supervision and management opportunities.
