Emphasising sustainable practices, the curriculum incorporates the use of breathable materials, ensuring your skills align with modern industry standards. You will need GCSE Maths and English at grade 2-9. Or a relevant Level 1 qualification.

This course is aimed at people wishing to learn some skills in plastering, to progress on to becoming skilled in their chosen trade, or to progress through an apprenticeship and work towards becoming a master craftsman. Delivered via a mixture of practical and theory tests over one academic year.

You will learn to Apply plastering materials to interiors
• Fix dry lining and plasterboards to interiors
• Lay sand and cement screeds
• Apply plastering materials to external backgrounds
• Produce reverse moulds for fibrous work
• Cast and fix fibrous plasterwork

What’s next?

Upon completing this programme, you’ll be well-prepared to advance your plastering career. You can pursue a Level 3, enhancing your expertise in areas like detailed interior and exterior plasterwork . Alternatively, securing a Plastering Apprenticeship allows you to earn while refining your skills on-site . Employment opportunities include roles as a solid or fibrous plasterer, with prospects to specialise further or move into supervisory positions. With experience, pathways open towards site management, heritage conservation, or establishing your own plastering business .
