Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for anyone who is thinking about setting up their own business.
The focus will be on the skills needed to be successful in self-employment. This course will provide an opportunity to investigate the skills, knowledge and experience needed to get started in business.
Learners should be keen to develop their business idea, looking at existing markets, sources of advice and support, viability and costs.
What do you need to apply for the course?
Learners wishing to undertake this course should be aged 19 or over. You will need to have at least a Level 1 qualification in literacy as you will be expected to write answers for assessment purposes.
What are the key things you'll learn?
This course is an introduction to running your own business, it explores the skills needed to become self-employed, including:
- Career planning including skills, qualities and abilities
- Sources of information and help
- T. skills
- Equality and Diversity
- Money Management
- Team Leading
An Enterprise activity relating to your business idea will also be completed.
The course will have work-related focus and will cover some of the knowledge and practical skills required for running your own business.
It is a suitable qualification for those wishing to run their own business.
How you will learn
This course is taught through weekly classroom based theory lessons, interactive activities, group work and observations.
Where could this course take you?
After successfully completing the course you will have a greater understanding of being self – employed and the viability of your idea. Progression to Level 2 qualifications is available.
