Who is this course for?
This course is for people who are looking to progress into a career in health care, social care or community work.
What do you need to apply for the course?
You will need a suitable level one qualification or four GCSEs at grade D or 3, including maths and English.
What are the key things you'll learn?
You will study the core values of working in the care sector. You will see how the needs of people can change over their lifetime and how care workers can meet those needs.
You will cover units such as:
Ensuring safe environments in health and care
Individual Needs in health and social care
Creative and therapeutic activities
How you will learn
Your course is taught through classroom learning and directed study. You will be assessed through course work which includes, presentations, reports and posters.
Where could this course take you?
If you successfully complete the course you could progress onto Level 3 Health and Social Care course or a level 3 Childcare Diploma, subject references from teaching staff.
What costs will you incur?
You may need to pay for field trips.
