Heading down the wrong path, studying at Sunderland College helped Jamie-Lee turn his life around. He is now considered one of the best young bricklayers in the North East after winning several skills competitions.

Level 2 Diploma Brickwork.

My grandad always said bricklaying is an excellent trade.

One of my friends did the course and said the lecturers were superb.

The feeling of accomplishment when you finish a wall and doing different things every day.

My lecturer taught my manager and you are treat as a young adult. You can also see that he cares about his students and wants us to succeed.

The atmosphere is amazing. We have a laugh and learn a lot at the same time.

We compete in regional and national competitions which is really good for my bricklaying career.

My lecturer Jimmy pushed me to be the best bricklayer I could and can be and he also helped get me the Apprenticeship which I am studying now.

Keep your head down, concentrate on your work and yourself.

Always give 100% in whatever course you do, always try to be on time, and push yourself.

I am an Apprentice Bricklayer at King Brothers Bricklaying Contractors Ltd.

Studying in Sunderland College help me realise my ambitions of becoming the best  young bricklayer in the North East.

Studying at Sunderland College really helped me figure out who I am as a person and what iI want to do with my life.
