Ryan described his time at Sunderland College as invaluable, along with his courses he thoroughly enjoyed playing for the college football team as it enabled him to meet friends outside of his subject areas.
He said:
The ethos at Sunderland College prepared me perfectly for university.
The science department are great, each lecturer is very passionate about their science subject and the laboratory facilities are fantastic.
I really liked that some of the lecturers liked have real world experience of their subjects having formerly worked in the industry.”
Ryan progressed straight to university after finishing his A-Levels, he then achieved first class master’s degree in chemistry from Newcastle University in 2014 and is currently studying for a PhD in Electrical Engineering at Durham University.
