Our state-of-the-art welding and fabrication workshop is run to industry standards and includes specialist facilities for MIG, TIG and MMA, Oxyacetylene, gas and plasma cutting.
Engineering needs creative people who can solve problems and use specialist skills to find solutions. The workshop provides outstanding facilities for our students, including industry standard and specific equipment to help them develop hand fitting skills including measurements, marking out, cutting and forming of metals.
The hub provides industry standard training to apprentices, school leavers and adult learners, enabling them to learn skills and techniques that are widely used in the industry, how to use the equipment correctly and safely within a safe and secure environment.
Sunderland College also provides training and development for employers and their employees.
Our students learn practical skills through their academic learning, then putting this knowledge into practical activities in a safe place without the pressures put on them in a real-work environment.
