Sunderland College barbering students recently made the trip down south to Kent, to visit Morgans Pomade, a hair and beauty manufacturer which was first established in 1873.
The visit enabled the level 3 barbering students to see how the products are made and sold. They had the chance to sit down and have a discussion about the products they sell and how is best to use them. The students were also given the chance to sit in on a barbering demo, which enabled them to gain some great tips and tricks they can take back into the salon.
Mark Sowerby, Sunderland College Lecturer in Barbering said:
It was such a fantastic opportunity for our students to visit Morgans and learn about their barbering business. It was amazing to see this family business still running after so many years. We all thoroughly enjoyed the visit and the insight it gave the students into the industry.
Students from Sunderland College and Northumberland College recently went head-to-head in an inter-college barbering competition.
