HND Travel and Tourism Management students, along with Brazilian students who are visiting Sunderland College on placement, worked as volunteers at the Chinese New Year celebrations in Sunderland city centre.
As Sunderland celebrated the Year of the Dog, the students worked behind the scenes to ensure the event was a success.
The students helped to co-ordinate the celebrations, which took place in The Bridges Shopping Centre. They had a security briefing and were allocate roles, including customer service, security, artist support and activity support.
Kelly Mounsey, Travel and Tourism Lecturer at Sunderland College, said:
“This was a fabulous event to take part in. The students were an asset to the College and demonstrated professional behaviour supporting a local event.”
