This season the men’s football development centre squad under Improtech Soccer and Stuart Brand’s guidance have won the North East Colleges Premier League.
The players and coaches have worked tirelessly over the course of the season and fully deserved the premier league title.
The 19-20 season will start with pre-season training at the beginning of August with the intention of surpassing the high standards that have been set this season by the talented players.
Carl Jones Sunderland College Football Development Centre Co-ordinator said:
“A huge congratulations to the Improtech Soccer Men’s Football Development Centre staff and squad. To win the NECL premier league title this season has been an excellent achievement considering the level and standard of teams that were in the competition. To win the league by March and only losing 1 fixture solidifies the dedication and hard work that the staff and squad have applied all season long. The importance of aligning a work ethic both on and off the pitch has been evident in the sporting and academic results achieved. We look forward to next season and continuing to have success in both domestic and national competition.
We would also like to congratulate Harry Noble (Mens team player and Level 3 Sport Performance & Excellence student) as he will be leaving us at the end of the current academic year to study on a scholarship in Georgia in the USA. We would like to wish Harry all the best in his next steps.”
Liam Proctor, Level 3 BTEC Sport (Performance & Excellence) student added:
“Representing Improtech and Sunderland College this season has been a pleasure, I speak not only as an individual but as part of the team, and from training to games all of the players have applied 100% effort to the programme. The improvements we have seen in our own games from the start of the programme is remarkable. Once we formed together as a group we took on Stuart Brand’s style of play, with progressive passing transitions. We had won the league by March, only losing 1 match. We look forward to next season and the challenge of the ECFA Premier League.”
Stuard Brand, Improtech Soccer Coach continued:
“Congratulations to all of the players who were successful in winning the NECL Premier League. Excellent team performances have seen some tremendous free flowing attacking football along the way. The success only mirrors the commitment they have shown in training throughout the year which has been fantastic. Hard work and perseverance has paid off, with not only winning the league but winning the league playing an attractive brand of football to watch. Well done to everyone who played their part, all the staff are proud of their development.”
