City of Sunderland College is once again celebrating the success of its students with excellent A-level results sweeping across the board.
For the third year running the pass rate is an incredible 99%, with students achieving 33 A* grades.
Nigel Harrett, Vice Principal (Curriculum and Student Support) at the College, said: “We are delighted with this year’s results. In particular the increase in students achieving an A* grade and the 100% pass rate our Higher Achievers programme has provided for those striving to get in to the country’s most prestigious universities.
“We have the largest number of students in Sunderland and we’re very proud to be improving on our success year-on-year.
“On behalf of City of Sunderland College, I’d like to congratulate our students and our teaching staff. These results are a direct reflection of their continued hard work and dedication and we’re thrilled. The college’s commitment to delivering the highest quality of education is delivering results for our students”.
Last year, the College was placed at the top of school league tables when its students achieved an A-level pass rate of 99% and 99% in BTEC National Diplomas. Also in 2010, 883 of its students went on to study at universities around the UK including Oxford and Cambridge.
