Level 3 Sports Coaching and Development

You will need 4 GCSE's at a grade 4- 9, including English. Or a relevant Level 2 qualification.

This course consists of a combination of both practical and theory elements. Students will be assessed through a range of methods including written work, presentations and delivering practical sessions. Practical sessions delivered in the are designed to give students a real-world experience of operating as a sports coach.

As part of the course students will study the following units:

Year 1
- Developing coaching skills
- Careers in the sport and active leisure industry
- Health, wellbeing and sport
Year 2
- Applied sports coaching
- Sports development
- Self-employment in sport and physical activity
- School sport delivery

Across the 2 years, students will also gain additional qualifications, including Level 2 Certificate in Coaching, Level 3 Emergency First-aid at Work, Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable People and Level 3 Higher Sports Leaders Award as well as taking part in workshops, masterclasses and placements with some of the country’s leading coaches, sports clubs and organisations.
