Thinking about university but don’t yet have the qualifications? This fast-track course is designed for adults aged 19+ who are passionate about business and ready to take the next step. Whether you're aiming for a career in management, marketing, finance or entrepreneurship, you’ll gain the knowledge, confidence and qualifications to move forward. You’ll explore real-world business challenges through seminars and workshops, developing core skills in leadership, strategy, and planning. Teaching is flexible, supportive, and designed around the demands of adult life, with expert tutors who understand how to help you succeed. Assessments are varied, from presentations and essays to practical projects and reports, giving you a chance to showcase your strengths. You’ll also build study skills for university and benefit from tailored feedback throughout. With direct progression routes to a wide range of business degrees, this course opens the door to higher education and a future full of opportunity.
You will need 4 GCSEs at grade 4/C including GCSE Maths and English or above or level 2 equivalents
If you do not meet the entry requirements for Access to HE you can join the Level 2 Progression to Access course which is designed to support you in your next steps to prepare for study at level 3. Please be aware students will be considered on a case-by-case basis if the entry requirements are not met by the Course Leader and Curriculum Manager.
An Access to Higher Education course be worth up to 144 UCAS points. When completed, this course provides 60 credits. These credits are then converted to UCAS points. The amount of UCAS points depends on the grades achieved in Level 3 units. Staff can assist in converting credits to UCAS points.

Teaching is delivered through a mix of seminars, workshops and structured sessions designed to support progression to university-level study. You’ll explore key business theories and frameworks while developing the analytical and problem-solving skills valued in both higher education and the workplace. Lessons are interactive and discussion-based, giving you the chance to apply your learning to real-world examples. Assessment is ongoing and varied, helping you to build confidence as you progress. Expect written assignments, presentations and research tasks that encourage critical thinking and independent learning. Throughout the course, feedback is tailored to help you grow academically and professionally. You’ll be supported by experienced tutors who understand the demands of higher education and the business sector. By the end of your studies, you’ll be equipped not only with subject knowledge but also with the skills to take the next step towards your future in business, whether that’s at university or beyond.
You must have achieved Level 2 maths and English qualifications prior to beginning this course. These subjects are then included within the diploma to support general progress in developing relevant skills for Level 3 and subsequent Level 4 study. If you do not already have a Level 2 in English or maths, you can contact the college to discuss your options with the programme lead.
This course is delivered at our Bede campus. Daytime sessions take place between 9:30am-2:30pm. When studying, you will be expected to spend time outside of lessons working on coursework and studying. You will also have access to study areas in college to support your learning and development.
