You will need 48 UCAS points (A prior L3 qualification in Computing is preferred) or have extensive relevant work experience including Maths and English at GCSE level at grade 4/ C.

Throughout your time on our Foundation Degree in Computing, you will be assessed on each module through a majority weighting on practical work produced, alongside your understanding of theory concepts. A variety of assessment methods used will be practical demonstration, video assessment, audio recordings of professional conversations, online blogs and written assessment.

It is expected that you have a Level 2/GCSE in English and Maths at grade C/4.

Not compulsory but gaining any industry experience is encouraged.

You will be studying full time at college for 12 hours per week. It is expected that you commit a further 12 hours of your time to learning outside the classroom too.

You will develop a strong foundation in the key areas of computing, including:
• Develop practical computing skills that are essential in a variety of computing fields
• You will develop your understanding of core computing concepts such as algorithms, data structures and system architecture.
• Hands on experience in programming with a focus on solving real world problems, writing efficient code and understanding best practices.
• Explore web development through designing and developing dynamic websites including front end and back end development, understanding the technologies and frameworks used.
• Get you prepared for industry and further study by equipping you with the skills and knowledge to work in entry level IT and computing sector jobs or a solid foundations to pursue further study on our Computing Degree Top Up pathway.
