Modules include Construction Design Project, Construction Technology, and Building Information Modelling, among others. You will need a level 3 in a construction trade area. i.e. bricklayer, joiner, plasterer or relevant site construction/experience or site offices. Including Maths and English at grade C/4 or relevant level 2 qualifications.

The course is classroom based and you will learn through a combination of:

- Lectures/presentations
- Seminars/tutorials/class discussion
- One to one discussions
- Guest speakers (where appropriate)
- Field trips (where appropriate)

A good standard of Maths and English is required for the course. Use of IT based programmes such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel would also be beneficial.

The HNC in Construction Management in England is HTQ certified and aims to help students lay the foundations of learning by providing a broad introduction to construction and different construction management functions. This develops and strengthens core skills, while preparing students for specialist subjects at Level 5, or to enter employment. The course help you develop the qualities necessary for job roles in the industry that require personal responsibility.

The course is also suitable for employees who wish to progress in their current job role and then progress to a relevant university degree course.

Each unit is worth 15 credits, with a total of 120 credits required over 2 years.
