What’s it all about?

This course is part of the Sixth Form A-Level subject offer for students aged 16 and over who want to continue their education through applied learning and who aim to progress to higher education. Many of our graduates progress to undergraduate university courses in areas such as physiotherapy or sports science.

This course would be part of your 3 or 4 A level subject choices. If applicants would rather study Sport and Exercise Science without any other A level subjects then we also offer a Btec National Extended Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science (3 A-Level equivalent).

You will need 5 GCSE's at grade 4-9 including Maths and English Language, PE or Science.

Students will study 4 modules across the 2 year course whilst at Sixth Form:

- Anatomy
- Sport Psychology
- Fitness Training
- Coaching

The 4 units are graded Pass, Merit or Distinction, which will then give an overall grade which is the equivalent to 1 A leve

What’s next?

You could progress to study a higher education course in sports and exercise sciences, or gain employment in the sport and fitness sector.
