This course is for the entrepreneurs and practitioners who work behind the scenes; driven by creativity, shaping ideas, and playing a vital role in bringing the creative industries to life.
This course focuses on developing your ability to generate ideas, plan projects, and understand how creative work can be developed into sustainable opportunities. You will explore enterprise skills, collaboration, and professional practice, preparing you for employment, freelance work, or progression into higher education.

You will need a relevant Level 3 qualification in a creative subject or equivalent experience and a portfolio or evidence of creative work may be required.

Teaching Methods:

This course may include opportunities to engage with live briefs, industry-focused projects, or external partners as part of your learning. These experiences are designed to support your understanding of professional practice.

This course is a full-time study programme. Timetables will be confirmed at the point of enrolment. Typically, learners are expected to engage in study across approximately three days per week; however, this is subject to timetabling.
Some of these hours will be allocated to independent study, during which you will have access to college equipment and facilities to support your learning.

Unit 1: The Creative Entrepreneur
This unit immerses students in the dynamic world of creative entrepreneurship, equipping them with the essential skills to launch and grow their own innovative ventures. Students will explore how to craft a compelling brand identity and strategically position their business within a highly competitive marketplace, while gaining valuable insight into the policies shaping their chosen creative sector.
By the end of the unit, students will not only understand what it takes to succeed in the creative industries—they’ll be ready to take their first steps into it.

Unit 2: The Creative Practitioner

This unit gives students the freedom and focus to shape their creative ambitions into something real and exciting. With dedicated time and space to explore ideas, students will research, experiment, and develop a concept that reflects their unique vision and voice.
Along the way, they’ll begin stepping into the industry itself—building valuable networking skills, making meaningful connections, and creating a professional contact base that can support their journey beyond the classroom. By the end, students won’t just have an idea—they’ll have a clear direction and the beginnings of a real presence in their chosen field.

Unit 3: The Creative Enterprise
This unit challenges students to turn their creative vision into a fully realised, future-ready business. Taking the lead on their own professional journey, students will independently design and carry out a feasibility study, testing the potential of their ideas and shaping them into a viable, sustainable venture.
By the end of the unit, students won’t just have a plan on paper—they’ll have a polished, professional blueprint for a creative enterprise that’s ready to take on the real world.

Upon completing this programme, you’ll be well-positioned to advance your studies or step directly into the creative industry. Many graduates choose to pursue a Higher National Diploma (HND) or a full Bachelor’s degree in specialised fields. Alternatively, the comprehensive skill set and professional portfolio developed during the course equip you for diverse roles within the creative sector.
