A highlight of your learning experience is access to the award-winning Immersive Space at our Bede Campus. This state-of-the-art facility features a fully integrated seven-metre cylinder with wraparound wall and floor projection, creating shared immersive virtual reality environments. It supports a range of subjects, enhancing engagement and understanding through interactive, real-world scenarios. The Immersive Space has been recognised internationally, winning the AV Education Project of the Year award, and is part of our commitment to providing cutting-edge educational experiences.
Students wishing to enrol on this course must have at least a level 1 in English and Maths. Whilst studying on the students are also expected to study GCSE Maths and/or English to assist in achieving the entry requirements needed for level 3 study.
The course has been compiled by the Access team to assist learners with progression to level 3. The team work closely with local universities (Northumbria, Sunderland and Teesside) to ensure students have an introductory understanding of units that will be covered in university.
This is part time course that is delivered face to face at our Bede Campus. Students are expected to attend all sessions they are time tabled for both the Pre-Access and their GCSE’s. If students fall below a 95% attendance, the course leaders will meet with students to support them to increase attendance.
The aim of this course is to allow students to gain the relevant qualifications to meet the entry criteria for level 3 studies. Students will develop not only their academic skills but also their confidence and listening skills.
