Lauren described her time at Sunderland Sixth Form as supportive, welcoming and top class! She progressed to the prestigious LIPA drama school and is now an accomplished actor living in London.
She said:
“I decided to study at Sunderland Sixth Form as it was close to home and had great teaching reviews. I liked the fact that the teachers were so supportive and helpful in believing in my career choices. The environment was friendly and fun.
The best thing about my drama course was the friends I made – both staff and students. I moved away to drama school straight after college but have remained close friends with people from my drama course. My lecturers believed in me all of the time, perhaps even when I didn’t believe in myself, and that was invaluable.
I went to Shiney Row campus, however, having visited the new campus, I think the students are incredibly lucky to have access to such fantastic facilities. I would encourage current and prospective students to take advantage of that as much as possible.
I worked as an actor throughout my time at college going to London on a trip with the drama department really helped me realise that London was where I ultimately wanted to be. I now live there.”
Lauren progressed to drama school (LIPA) and is now a professional actor. She has performed at The Globe in London, filmed a lead in ITVs Vera, played the principal role in pantomime is will be touring with Northern Stage this year in War of The Worlds.
