It includes two variable speed spray booths, paint mixing room including water and solvent based paints with industry standard equipment, a vehicle chassis and frame jig with a panel area and tools.

Our students can develop real vehicle repair techniques and skills for a future career and experience the expectations and technology used in the workplace.

It also prepares our Level 3 students for their extended placements. 

  • Live vehicle repair situations to develop communication skills, self-confidence and other personal and social skills and professional behaviours. 
  • Practical workshop sessions using the vehicles and paint systems to learn how they work, and the repair techniques used in the workplace. 
  • Exploring the effects of specialist paint finishers and custom paint effects to achieve unique one-off paint effects. 
  • Hands-on experience of estimating vehicle, damage remove and refitting vehicle body panels, sanding & repainting damaged areas then restoring the vehicles lustre. 
  • Risk assessments within the automotive setting.
