Sunderland College Level 3 Barbering students have recently been involved in arranging and taking part in a number of activities to raise money for Movember.
The students took part in a football and basketball match at our Bede Campus, along with a number of activities taking place across the college’s city campus such as tombola, a raffle, moustache painting, table tennis and much more.
In total, £139 was raised in donations for the charity who are a leading global organisation committed to changing the face of men’s health.
Mark Sowerby, Sunderland College Lecturer in Barbering said:
“The learners showed great team work to help raise vital funds and awareness for such a good cause. We chose to support the Movember Foundation because they’re tackling some of the most significant health issues faced by men and the donations we received have helped us make a difference.”
The college looks forward to raising more money in the coming months for important charities like these.
Students from Sunderland College and Northumberland College recently went head-to-head in an inter-college barbering competition.
