Sport student climbs career ladder

Sport and Exercise Science and Sports Massage Therapy student Keiren,

has recently been successful in becoming the lead academy physiotherapist at Cambridge United FC.

Keiren had always had a keen interest in the anatomy and physiology of the body when studying at the college and achieved top grades in his sports injuries and massage units. Having a keen interest in this area combined with being a very hard worker has meant that he has gone on to achieve success since completing his courses.

Paul Brown Sunderland College Sport Lecturer said:

“Keiren was a pleasure to teach when he studied at Sunderland College and we are absolutely delighted to see that he has progressed in his career. We wish him all the best in his new role as lead academy physiotherapist at Cambridge United FC!”

Keiren Stimpson, Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport and Exercise Sciences and Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy student added:

“At Sunderland College, the Sport and Exercise Science course enabled me to learn and develop key skills and areas for moving into a career in physiotherapy, with modules such as Anatomy, Physiology and Sports Injuries offering an excellent foundation. Then to further build on this foundation through the Sports Massage Therapy course by offering vital hands on experience that set me up well to advance onto the physiotherapy degree, and embark on a career in elite sport. A special thanks to Paul, Carl, and Graham for delivering an outstanding course.”
