Jaden and Morgan have this week travelled to Scotland for a week long professional football trial with Dundee United FC who currently play in the Scottish Championship.
Both students are currently studying L3 BTEC Sport (Performance and Excelle snce) and have commented on how they feel they have significantly improved their skills on and off the pitch since joining the academy at Sunderland College.
This is a great opportunity for both boys, they will gain a real insight into what it is like to play professionally and a chance to develop their career pathway.
Carl Jones, Sunderland College Academic Co-ordinator of the Football Development Centre
“Jaden and Morgan have both continued to make significant strides with their academic studies over the current academic year. Both student athletes have achieved a positive grade profile this academic year which mirrors the effort both student athletes give towards their daily engagement with Improtech Soccer. Both are continuing to make progress towards outlined academic goals which has been very pleasing to oversee.”
Jaden Cahill-Taylor and Morgan Dart, Level 3 BTEC Sport (Performance and Excellence) students added:
“The day to day engagement in the Football Development Centre with Improtech Soccer coaches Stuart Brand, Colin Larkin and Stephen Elliott has had a significant impact upon our progress. All coaches have helped guide us in order to develop a range of aspects in our game in order to make us better players.”
Stuart Brand Improtech Soccer Football Coach continued:
“This is a great opportunity for both players to potentially change their lives. Both have worked tremendously hard this year and have been star performers within the development centre. Morgan has scored 18 goals so far this season and Jaden has made 12 assists to date. This progress has been evident throughout the programme at Sunderland College where both players have applied a positive attitude and work ethic in the development centre, hard work is paying off!”
