Overview

Paul started working at Sunderland College in 2006 while studying his teaching qualification.

He is passionate about increasing his skills and knowledge in the areas he teaches, spending a year in Australia to gain more experience in sports massage.

I have been at Sunderland College since 2006 – my only teaching job.

I have taught Level 3 to 5 in sport science and Level 3 and 4 in sport massage therapy.

I am course leader for Sport and Exercise Sciences and Sports Massage Therapy. I also teach on these courses.

I studied a Foundation Degree in Sports and Exercise Sciences at Sunderland College between 2003-04 then worked as a Curriculum Support Officer for the BTEC Sport groups the following year.

While studying my teaching qualification I took a part-time teaching position, which was great to get into at 22 years old.

Seeing my Sports Massage Therapy students starting their own businesses.

I also enjoy getting to know my learners at all levels, learning how they best respond to my teaching and supporting them all the way to graduation.

The opportunity to study sports massage in Australia, then to deliver two new sports massage qualifications at the college.

My parents, and to progress my understanding and skills in the areas I teach.
