Who is this course for?

These qualifications are for people working in or looking to work in assessment and Internal Quality assurance.  The Level 3 will enable you to become a qualified assessor.

What do you need to apply for the course?

You will need to hold a Level 3 Qualification in the discipline you are required to assess on.

Example: To assess Health and Social Care qualifications you must hold a Level 3 qualification.

You will need an acceptable level of Literacy and Numeracy to be working at his Level.  You must possess or be working towards either a GCSE or equivalent at Grade C or above or hold Adult Literacy and Numeracy qualifications at Level 2.

What are the key things you'll learn?

Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment  is the mandatory knowledge only award for you to start your journey as an assessor, or those who need to know about assessment practice but are not currently practicing assessment.

 

Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence I the Work Environment is for practitioners who assess the demonstration of competence in a work environment using some of the following assessment methods – Observation/examining work products/oral questioning and discussion/use of witness/learner statements etc

You must have access to learners on an approved apprenticeship to complete this Unit (The College does not source your learners, you must source them yourself)

 

Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocational related Training is for practitioners who assess vocationally related Achievement in a vocationally related subject area (ie Hair/Beauty/Travel/Sport etc)

Using a variation of assessment methods: assessments in simulated environments/skills/tests/oral and written questions/assignments/projects/case studies/RPL.

You must have access to 2 learners on an approved qualification (BTEC/A Levels etc) to complete this Unit (The College does not source your learners, you must source them yourself)

How you will learn

This course is taught using a variety of methods including practical sessions, group discussion and written assignments.

Where could this course take you?

These qualifications will help you to progress your career as a qualified assessor or trainer. You may also progress onto the Level 4 Quality Assurance qualification, the Level 3 Award in Education and Training and the level 4 Certificate in Education and Training.

The Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment costs £375

Both Practical awards cost £395 each
