Part Time, Short Course
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for anyone who wishes to gain employment in an office environment.
The focus will be on developing the practical skills in a business administration role, whilst also improving job search and interview skills to gain employment in the sector.
Learners should be keen to work in an administrative environment; they should have Level 1 I.T. skills with some experience of Microsoft Office.
What do you need to apply for the course?
This course is suitable for anyone aged 18 or over who is unemployed, eligible to work in the UK and who is claiming JSA or ESA (WRAG) or other benefits such as income support, housing, council tax, pension credit or an unwaged dependent. People aged 18 or over who are not in receipt of a benefit are also welcome to apply.

What are the key things you'll learn?
This course covers the key areas of working in an office including:
- Understanding business communication
- Filing skills
- Careers in business and administration
- Problem solving in a business administration environment
- Working in a team
The course will have work-related focus and will cover some of the knowledge and practical skills required for working in the sector and for gaining employment within the sector.
The course will also prepare learners for job applications, interviews, including competency based questioning, group assessments and role plays.
It is a suitable qualification for those wishing to change career or support previous experience or employment following a career break.

This course is taught through classroom based theory lessons, interactive activities, group work and observations.

After successfully completing the course you will have the skills required to gain an entry position in an office, progress on to further study, distance learning or apprenticeship.
