Who is this course for?
This course is for people who want to pursue a career in the performing arts industry.
What do you need to apply for the course?
You will need two GCSEs at grade D and a keen interest in performing arts.
What are the key things you'll learn?
This course covers the following key areas:
- The Performing Arts Business
- Acting Skills
- Dance Skills
- Performance preparation and production
- Devising performance work
- Movement skills
How you will learn
The course is taught through a mixture of practical assessments/performances which will be underpinned with theory work. Your work will be internally assessed except for two units; one will be externally examined and the second will be an on-line test.
Where could this course take you?
After successfully completing the course you could progress onto Performing Arts (Acting) BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 or Performing Arts (Dance) BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3. Alternatively you may wish to seek employment in the industry.
What costs will you incur?
There may be a small cost of purchasing scripts or visits to the theatre however, when possible we will pay for these events. It is expected that you wear all black for practical sessions and this cost will be met by yourself.
