Sunderland College student Cieron Clasper has been crowned Guild of Bricklayers senior champion for the Northern Region.
Cieron won the title at Redcar and Cleveland College after competing against some of the region’s best young bricklayers.
He will now represent the Northern Region in the national final in familiar surroundings – Sunderland College’s City Campus in June – where he will look to add to the national junior championship he won in 2024.
After his exciting win, the 21-year-old said: I am happy to win this competition building on my National Junior title i won in London last year.
“I was delighted to represent Sunderland College and my company Strictly Bricks LTD in the Senior competition and was eager to test my skills again against the best in the UK.”

It was a pleasure to enter Cieran into the senior competition. Cieran showed not just outstanding hand skills he also showed the mindset needed to produce his best work when it matters.”
Guild of Bricklayers Competitions are held at 10 Regions across the UK with the winners coming together for the national finals.
Sunderland College, as part of college group EPNE, receives an Outstanding rating across the board in its latest Ofsted inspection.
