What’s it all about?

Are you interested in how technology works and want to build the skills needed for a future in computing? Our Level 1 Computing Industries course is the perfect starting point for developing your digital knowledge and confidence.
This course is designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of computing, including how systems work, how software is created, and how technology is used in everyday life and business. You will explore a range of digital skills while building the foundations needed to progress into more specialised study.
Whether you are aiming to move into cyber security, software development, or another area of computing, this course will prepare you for progression onto a T Level Foundation in Computing.

Achieving a Grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths and English is important, but if you're not there yet, you will continue to study these subjects alongside your course. This will support your progression into further study and careers within the computing sector.

At Level 1, our courses are designed to lay a solid foundation without the requirement of a work placement, allowing you to focus fully on mastering the fundamentals of your chosen field. As you progress to Level 2 and Level 3, we encourage you to enhance your learning experience and boost your career prospects through targeted work placements. These opportunities are crafted to complement your studies and provide practical, hands-on experience in a real-world setting, preparing you to excel in a career you are passionate about.

We are committed to connecting your learning to the wider computing and digital industries. Industry links could include:
• Opportunities to hear from guest speakers across the digital sector
• Engagement with industry-relevant projects and activities
