This course if for anyone who has a passion for hairdressing and who would like to embark on a career in the hairdressing industry.
You will learn to shampoo, style, cut, colour and perm hair as well as developing your communication skills to help with retail sales, consultation techniques and reception duties.
You will also have the opportunity to attend master classes, listen to guest speakers from the industry, participate in competitions and take part in external trips and visits.
You will need at least two GCSEs at grade 4 or above, ncluding English Language and preferably Maths or a Hairdressing Level 1.
You will also need complete a practical skills assessment.

You will have an excellent experience and will benefit from a variety of practical and theory lessons.
During your practical lessons in our dedicated training salons, you will develop your skills to industry standards.
During theory lessons in the classroom, you will develop knowledge through a variety of group work, research, presentations and assignments.
You will also get the opportunity to gain industry experience by completing a work placement.
English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/or English at school, we will support you to improve your skills.
As a requirement of this course, you will be complete a work placement. This may be block placement of one week or it could be for 2 full days per week throughout the duration of the course.
In addition to an industry placement, you will have the opportunity to attend master classes, listen to guest speakers from within industry, participate in competitions both in-house and externally, and also take part in external trips and visits.
City and Guilds
This is a full-time programme that may include Maths and English. Your timetable will be across various days Monday-Friday, including one late evening class.
This Level 2 Hairdressing course aims to provide you with a range of technical and practical skills and knowledge, which will equip you to seek employment or further training within the hairdressing industry.
If you want to become a stylist working with clients in a commercial salon, then this course is for you.
After completing this course, you could progress onto a full-time Level 3 course or secure an apprenticeship at Level 3.
You could also apply the skills and knowledge you have developed to gain employment in the industry.
