This course aims to give students a core knowledge of skills required in the creative and digital industries.
You will have the opportunity to study and experience the areas of music, art, performance, media and IT to develop the academic skills and subject knowledge required to progress onto a Level 2 course in one of these areas.
This qualification is intended to be accessible to a wide range of learners of all abilities.
Learners can develop a hands-on approach to their learning and gain practical skills, knowledge and understanding in their chosen vocational area(s).
The skills, knowledge and understanding gained may help learners prepare for work through real or simulated work situations and may contribute to preparing learners for working life beyond education.
This course intends to give learners a solid base from which to further develop their skills and learning and gain skills necessary for learners to be able to progress successfully to a Level 2 programme.
To achieve this qualification, learners must successfully demonstrate their achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria of the units through coursework.
Completion of GCSE or KS4 courses.

You will be taught using a range of teaching techniques including: lectures, video lessons, practical demonstrations, guest lecturers and remote learning.
You will be assessed by written and practical submissions that may contribute to a portfolio.
English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/ or English at school, we will support you to improve your skills.
We have a number of links to industry across the creative and digital industries to ensure you gain an outstanding learning experience with us and are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to progress to a career in industry.
You will study 10 hours a week in college and will be expected to take some time outside of college to further your studies and complete any homework set by your lecturer.
This course will take place Monday – Friday between 9am and 5pm. Timetables will be issued at the start of term.
The aim of the course is to develop core skills and knowledge in the Creative and Digital industries to allow you to progress your knowledge in this area.
