What’s it all about?

The course is designed for anyone looking to work in the accountancy/finance field or current workers who would like to improve their skills. You will study topics such as principles of double entry bookkeeping, management accounting techniques and practical skills used in accounting software.

You are required to hold least two GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade D or above, or have successfully completed a Level 1 Bookkeeping course. You also need Level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy and be able to demonstrate basic IT skills.

You will attend classes 1 day or two evenings per week. The course is partly classroom based with five computer based assessments spread throughout the course.

You will be required to undertake a significant amount of self-study in your own time.

This course is part-time, with an option to attend classess during the day or to attend classess in the evening.

What’s next?

Successfully completing the course would allow you to progress on to the AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting, as well as providing you with AAT professional membership. You could expect to gain work in a number of accounting roles, which require an introductory level qualification.
