The Supporting Teaching and Learning Level 2 Certificate has been designed to provide students with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in school or college environments. It covers a wide range of areas including children and young people’s development, supporting children and young people’s positive behaviour and communication and professional relationships.
The course is for you if you wish to work within the school sector and do not already possess a relevant Level 2 qualification. It will provide you with a ‘licence to practice’ in a supervised capacity with children and young people within schools.
The course is aimed at students working in roles that support pupils’ learning in primary, secondary or special schools, as well as colleges.
If you do not already hold GCSE 'C' grades or equivalent in Maths and English, it expected that you will work towards gaining these qualifications.

You will be taught using a range of teaching techniques including classroom delivered sessions, interactive workshops and self-study.
Most teaching will take place in the classroom, with some opportunities for you to access online learning. You will also undertake a placement (voluntary or paid) to gain vital experience and to inform your learning.
English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/ or English at school, we will support you to improve your skills.
Days between 9am - 3pm, Evenings between 6pm - 9pm
You will study several modules when studying this course including:

After successfully completing the course you could find employment as an educational practitioner within the school sector. You could also choose to progress to the Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or an Early Years qualification.
