Alex found the new independence she experienced at Sunderland College prepared her for life after college and becoming self-employed. She now runs her own social media company and is a public speaker, inspiring students and young entrepreneurs to follow their dreams and become self-employed.
She said:
“I absolutely loved having the freedom to work when I wanted and how I wanted. I have always been an independent learner and this was absolutely the best thing about Sunderland College. It definitely reflects my life now that I am running my own business and working for myself.
I had a place at the University of York to study English Literature. However, I left after 2 months and explored a number of career options. I started attending networking events and got my first full-time job at a social media training company. When I was suddenly made redundant I decided to launch my business! I am now on a mission to change the way brands portray themselves.”
