Tempany described her time at Sunderland College as supportive, full of opportunity with great teachers. She completing her HND in Travel and Tourism Management at the college, she was then accepted onto a top-up degree course at the University of Sunderland in Tourism Management.
She said:
“I started my journey on the college’s Level 3 BTEC in Travel and Tourism and progressed from there.
The fantastic lecturers and the new facilities at City Campus are excellent in preparing you for university and a career in the industry. We were lucky to take part in a number of visits which took us from York and Manchester to Amsterdam and Benidorm!
The support I received was second to none, my lecturers saw my potential and pushed me to change my attitude and finish the course to achieve my HND, which I am so grateful for.”
Tempany has since secured a job in the travel industry working as a travel consultant for DFDS. She is hoping that her degree will help her to reach her goal of progressing onto a role in travel and tourism management.
