Sunderland College will join city partners at Expo Sunderland’s ‘Come & Play’ event at the Bridges Shopping Centre this month.
Taking place between Tuesday 22 and Thursday 24 February, young people aged 11-17 from across the city are invited to come along and experience cool new technologies, try out fun games and see innovative ideas from difference businesses.
Staff and students from the college’s Creative, Digital and Computing faculty will lead various activities across the three days including photography, creative arts, media, music, games design and Esports where pupils can watch or have a go.
There will also be a glimpse at future inventions and how they might change our lives from businesses including Nissan UK, Sunderland AFC, British Esports and the University of Sunderland among others at the free event.
Sunderland College’s Recruitment and Engagement team will also be on hand to offer advice and guidance to those looking to apply to study at Bede and City campus in the future.
Sheree Rymer, Faculty Director for Creative, Digital and Computing, said: “We are delighted to have been invited to participate in Expo Sunderland. We will have staff and students supporting the ‘Come & Play’ event, giving young people in our city the chance to experience first-hand what Sunderland College has to offer.
“Hopefully this experience will inspire them to continue their education with us in a variety of subject areas including A-Levels, T Levels and vocational technical courses.”
Expo Sunderland celebrates collaborative ambition to find innovative solutions that deliver net-zero goals and create flourishing, healthy, sustainable cities.
