In a move to propel the region into a greener future, Sunderland College has partnered with NetZero Group to offer a Carbon Footprint & Sustainability Strategy Skills Bootcamp.
This 60-hour programme is poised to become a catalyst for change within local businesses, equipping employers with the tools they need to embrace sustainable growth.
The collaboration focuses on providing practical knowledge and insights, enabling organisations to develop and implement carbon footprint management and sustainability strategies.
Such vital skills are aligned with the increasing demands of legislation, competition, and the global trend toward environmentally responsible business practices.
Alan Wilson, Founder of NetZero Group, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “This collaboration signifies a monumental step towards building a greener tomorrow for our community. The combined experience and commitment of Sunderland College, NetZero Group, and EPNE offers a unique platform for local employers. The Skills Bootcamp is not merely a course; it’s a pathway to opportunity, innovation, and responsible growth.”
Iain Nixon, Vice Principal Partnerships and Commercial at Sunderland College, added: “We are incredibly proud to join forces with NetZero Group. By investing in the skills and knowledge offered in this Skills Bootcamp, we’re helping employers in our region to lead the way in sustainable practices.
“This is not only essential for the health of our planet but paramount in ensuring our local economy thrives in a green future.”
Education Partnership North East (EPNE) is a dynamic partnership between Sunderland College, Hartlepool Sixth Form and Northumberland College. It is one of the largest college groups in the country with campuses across the North East region from Berwick-upon-Tweed to the Tees Valley. It has a combined student community of over 21,500.
The Carbon Footprint & Sustainability Strategy Skills Bootcamp offers a prime opportunity for employers to invest in sustainable practices that align with global megatrends, create competitive advantage, and contribute positively to local communities.
A course completer lauded its impact, stating: “The course guided us to craft a succinct sustainability strategy, focusing on the WHAT, HOW, and outcome measurement. It elucidated the Carbon Offset process, opening new opportunities for our organisation. Essential for anyone aiming for greener operations.”
Enrolment for the course is now open, and employers across the region are encouraged to take this vital step towards sustainability.
