Jamie has played football in Scotland his whole life until recently re-locating. He played for two clubs until the age of eight, then he went to Rangers for a year, then he played for Hamilton Academical FC until he was 15 years old. He describes the Sport Development Centre as organised, sophisticated and helpful.
“I decided to study at Sunderland College as I play for South Shields and the football club has a link with the college.
The Sport Development Centre was important to me as it’s given me the chance to train regularly. It’s also given me access to good facilities such as a state-of-the-art gym, health screening and a top education.
The best thing about the Sport Development Centre is being able to train every day. It’s very organised and gives players a big chance to improve as a footballer. I think the facilities are top of the range and very helpful for players.”
Jamie plans to improve as a football player and hopes to get a professional contract at a good level.
