Students at Sunderland College will be able to get vaccinated at a walk-in service on campus during the start of term.
On Thursday 16 September (9am to 4pm), a special Vaccine Bus will be visiting the college’s City Campus in Park Lane, Sunderland where NHS staff will be offering COVID vaccinations to those over 16 and over.
No appointment is needed, and a team of immunisers and support staff will be on hand to answer questions or address any issues of vaccine hesitancy.
Director of Student Services, Ruth Magnus, said: “It’s about making it as easy and accessible as possible for students who’ve not been vaccinated to do so.
“We are encouraging all students to be vaccinated to keep themselves and their community as safe as possible. It also reduces the risk of having to isolate due to becoming ill or further disruption to their education if we had to go into another lockdown.”
