Carbon Footprint and Sustainability Strategy (Sunderland College)

Who is the Skills Bootcamp for?

This Skills bootcamp is an ideal opportunity for organisational leaders and decision-makers who aim to pioneer sustainable growth and performance.

What will the Skills Bootcamp cover?

This Skills Bootcamp has been developed specifically to provide organisations with the capability to meet emerging procurement requirements from publicly funded projects. There is a need to be able to measure and calculate the carbon footprint for your organisation and develop a plan to reduce the carbon footprint over time. This is needed to comply with procurement regulations.

As Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) make up the vast majority of the supply chain, tier 1 companies rely on SMEs for sub-contracts and therefore need their contractors to provide the data under scope 3 emissions for carbon reporting. This Skills Bootcamp will enable SME’s to access the significant volume of work being tendered in the region.

The sustainability strategy provides the framework for an organisation to align sustainability with existing business planning processes to create truly sustainable entities that reduce their environmental impact whilst identifying opportunities for profitable growth or improvement in service provision.
